In January the Men’s+ Football and the Hurling team packed their bags and jetted off to the land of green via Ryanair for a weekend trip to Amsterdam (what could possibly go wrong?). The itinerary was simple; play a match, have a ball, and get #content for socials.

Day one saw the team checking into the ClinkNOORD hostel before exploring what the city had to offer; like the coffee shops, the galleries, and an Irish pub...shocker. The team woke up feeling fresh for their match against Amsterdam GAC. Highlights of the match included Mohtkar's first time togging out in the pink and black of NGA, Cian Griffin's (not-so-subtle) tactical vom at half-time which echoed throughout the stadium, and held their own against the European Champions three years in a row...lol.

Everyone was in high spirits despite the loss and continued to explore the city. That evening, the team went to Hannekes Boom to celebrate before heading for a night of boogeying and fun with a few lads from the Amsterdam team. By the time Sunday came around it was Amsterdam 1, NGA 0 - another loss for the team. But that didn’t stop anyone from making their final impression on the city. The gang headed to Pride Street to again on the Sunday night to enjoy the local drag scene.

The trip was a perfect time for new joiners to insert themselves into the team. New friendships were built and happy (sometimes traumatising) memories were made - we're looking at you and your Polaroid Aaron! Everyone agreed in Dublin Airport to never see each other again… until training only 3 hours later!
